A Baltimore man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the Essex murder of his ex-girlfriend, Baltimore County prosecutors say.

Terrence Jenkins, 50, had pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in March. All but 60 years of the life sentence were suspended.

He was arrested in December 2015, when he also faced a charge of first-degree murder in Baltimore City. He was sentenced in April to life in prison in that case, as well.

On Dec. 12, 2015, Jenkins killed Shelly Fillion in her home at 56 Skipjack Court. Her body was found two days later with numerous injuries police said were consistent with strangulation.
