A man convicted of raping and kidnapping a woman from a school near Brooklandville was sentenced Monday to three consecutive life sentences without parole, the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office said.

Allen Watkins Hicks, 42, was convicted or first degree rape, two counts of first degree sexual offense, kidnapping and robbery in June. Prosecutors said Hicks approached the victim at the Greenspring Montessori School one evening in December 2015 and forced her at gunpoint to hand over property, and bound her hands.

Hicks then forced the woman to perform sexual acts and drove her around in the backseat of her car, prosecutors said. The victim escaped and called for help.

Hicks was previously convicted of rape in connection with an incident in Landover in 1996. He was sentenced to 25 years of prison and was mandatorily released on March 2015.

An earlier version misstated the terms of his 2015 release. The Sun regrets the error.
